Keesha B. Buteau, MBA

Keesha B. Buteau has amassed over twenty years of experience as a nonprofit executive, facilitator, and trainer, and her love for life, people, and business shines through her every endeavor. She has a passion for creativity and growth and believes it is her purpose to be not only a reliable source of encouragement but a beacon for those who need support in search of their own success. Highly valuing personal and professional development, she believes that good business management starts with people.

Keesha earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2006 and in 2020, she returned to obtain a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in project management after keenly observing the realities of c-suite management. She’s a registered and certified nonprofit consultant (CNC) through the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Executives. Working with multiple nonprofits, in the public sector, and being a small business owner provided her with first-hand knowledge of the challenges that the leaders of organizations face.

Since then, she has been instrumental in the implementation of new business operating models both locally and nationally. She has assisted and equipped organizations to reach fundraising and revenue goals, measure impact, onboard management teams, and develop cohesive strategic plans. Keesha believes that teaching clients to trust the process better guides them to discover the actual issue(s) at play, giving them clarity to reevaluate goals.

As for her leadership style, Keesha describes her instinctual approach as “the lion and the lamb.” In the role of the lion, she relentlessly pursues her target goals while still embracing the lamb-like characteristics of vulnerability and transparency with those she serves. Fiercely passionate and sensitive to the needs of others, she leads with a caring heart. Her ability to make genuine connections allows her to build trust and create safe spaces that foster personal, professional, and business growth. It’s important to Keesha to first consider the person as a whole before addressing their professional goals.

Recognizing that people and businesses have different, varying needs, Keesha is a strong proponent of personalized plans, bringing light to issues, and creating a path to success with realistic solutions and strategies for the business and individual. Respecting that time is the most valuable resource, her every move is made efficiently and with intention in the pursuit of excellence.

In 2022, Keesha founded Beacon of Light to provide essential professional services that would assist people and organizations in fulfilling their missions and reaching their goals. As there are many undeveloped programs in the minds of Executive Directors and unrealized services and products in the hearts of entrepreneurs, Keesha is eager to bring them to light and to serve as a shining source of encouragement along the way.
